Melamine in moulded products

Melamine resins with strong thermosetting attributes are molded into a variety of translucent, heat-resistant products that are odorless and tasteless, with pale color. Fillers (35-40% of purified alpha-cellulose) pigments and dyes can be incorporated into the plastic to produce various combinations of opacity and color.
These plastics are used in tableware, ashtrays, utensil handles, wash resistant buttons, small appliance housing and components, insulators and many other products.
The primary advantages of these plastics are their strong resistance to heat, water, chemicals, discoloration and their relative non conductivity. The largest end-use is tableware and dinnerware, where inexpensiveness, ease of sanitization and durability are clear assets.
