The opportunity

The selected candidate will be responsible for activities related to its discipline within a project. 

As part of a group of electrical engineers assigned to the project, he/she prepares deliverables and executes activities within the Electrical discipline for a specific project in compliance with safety and technological requirements and standards defined for the project. 

He/She reports to the Head of Department, while reports to the Electrical Discipline Leader assigned to the project for the project related activities.

Key responsibilities

Guided by the Electrical Discipline Leader, Electrical Engineer’s main tasks during project execution are:

Development of discipline deliverables such as:

  • Single Line Diagrams

  • Load schedule/ Plant load balance

  • Network studies and calculations (Load flow, short circuit, stability, protection settings, harmonics, etc.)

  • Electrical equipment specifications for MV and LV equipment such as Motor Control Centers, switchgears, metering panels, transformers, UPSes, VFDs, motors, heaters, etc.

  • Earthing, lighting, tracing systems

  • CCTV, Public Address systems

  • Electrical cables routing, power distribution

  • Electrical layout drawings

  • Field installation details

  • Field equipment and accessories MTO

As part of the Department the Electrical Engineer:

  • Provides feedback to Electrical Discipline Leader to increase efficiency of the group assigned to the project

  • Receives continuous training on the job according to the needs of the Department acquiring competences and shared experiences

  • Keeps himself updated about the electrical design

  • Pursues the continuous improvement of his proficiency and technical competences

Possible additional tasks:

  • He/She can assist the pre-commissioning/commissioning supervisor and start-up supervisor for all those activities related to electrical 

  • He/She can participate to manufacturer inspections

Requirements

  • High school or bachelor’s degree in Electrotechnics or Electronics or Automation.

  • 2/3 years of work experience are highly appreciated.

  • Experience in an engineering company operating on chemical/petrochemical plants may be a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of the working principles and technical features of the electrical systems.

  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and relevant flow diagrams.

  • Willingness to continuously improve own skills and competencies.

  • Proactivity, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).

  • Availability to to short and long term national and international business trips.
