The opportunity
The Planner and Cost Controller will be responsible for managing time scheduling and cost control functions across project phases, from initial development to final delivery. This role involves creating and updating project control documents, analysing budgets, conducting variance analysis, and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Key responsibilities
Perform all aspects of project scheduling, including the creation and maintenance of project control documents (Milestone Plan, Project Summary Schedule, WBS, Detailed Schedule, Project Curve etc..).
Prepare and update reporting as required by the project execution plan and internal procedures.
Apply standard planning methodologies, tools, and best practices for project scheduling and cost control.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial forecasts.
Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting to identify and address any budget discrepancies.
Implement cost control methodologies using the company ERP system (SAP).
Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams to collect and analyse data for schedule and budget updates.
Support the Commercial department by preparing high-level project schedules for proposals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (e.g. Management Engineering) or a closely related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors, in a similar role.
Prior experience with EPC projects and on-site work is highly valued
Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory
Nice to have
Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Familiarity with Power BI is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver results under pressure.
Experience working with multicultural teams is a plus.
Willingness to travel abroad for short business trips.
