The opportunity

The selected candidate will be responsible for activities related to process discipline within a project. 

As part of a group of process engineers assigned to the project, he/she prepares deliverables and executes activities within the process discipline for a specific project in compliance with safety and technological requirements and standards defined for the project. 

He/She reports to the Head of Department, while reports to the Process Discipline Leader assigned to the project for the project related activities.

Key responsibilities

Guided by the Process Discipline Leader, Process Engineer’s main tasks during project execution are:

Development of discipline deliverables such as:

  • Process simulation, development of H&MB and Process Flow Diagrams

  • Participate in the process design preparation of Piping & Instrument Diagrams

  • Line pressure drop calculation and sizing

  • Static equipment of unit operations process design including internal details or data collection for relevant specification

  • Hydraulic calculation

  • Process datasheet preparation 

  • Data assignment for line list, instruments & control valves

  • Definition the utilities requirements and design the associated systems

  • Definition the chemicals and catalysts requirements for the assigned systems and prepare the relevant summary

  • Definition quantities and characteristics of effluents to be disposed to the environment

  • Definition the chemicals and catalysts requirements for the assigned systems and prepare the relevant summary

  • Preparation of Operating Manual and Test Run procedures

  • Cooperate with other Technical Disciplines for the following activities:

    • C&EM and Complex Loop definition

    • Electrical load list

    • Equipment engineering drawings checking

    • Plant Lay-out review

    • 3D model review

    • Checking of documents developed by manufacturers/vendors, subcontractors, customers

As part of the Department the Process Engineer:

  • Provides feedback to Process Discipline Leader to increase efficiency of the group assigned to the project

  • Receives continuous training on the job according to the needs of the Department acquiring competences and shared experiences

  • Keeps himself updated about the process design

  • Pursues the continuous improvement of his proficiency and technical competences

Possible additional tasks:

  • He/She can be assigned at site as pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up process supervisor

  • He/She can participate to manufacturer inspections

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Good knowledge and utilization of the common productivity software (MS Office)

  • Knowledge and utilization process simulation software are preferred (ASPEN, Hysys)

  • Passion for process engineering discipline

  • Willingness to continuously improve own skills and competencies.

  • Proactivity, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Effective and positive communication attitudes

  • Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).

  • Availability to short and long term national and international business trips.
