The opportunity
The selected candidate will be responsible for activities related to Mechanical discipline within a project.
As part of a group of mechanical engineers assigned to the project, he/she prepares deliverables and executes activities within the mechanical discipline for a specific project in compliance with safety and technological requirements and standards defined for the project.
He/She reports to the Head of Department, while reports to the Mechanical Discipline Leader assigned to the project for the project related activities.
Key responsibilities
Guided by the Mechanical Discipline Leader, Stress Engineer main tasks during project execution are:
Development of discipline deliverables such as:
Develops the calculations of the static equipment as per project codes and standards and technological requirements from Process Discipline.
Prepare the calculation reports.
Draws the equipment and accessories related to them.
Review the engineering drawings and the relevant mechanical calculations of pressure equipment supplied by the Manufacturers and/or by the detail engineering Companies.
Perform piping stress analysis of critical piping systems.
Produce piping loads on steel structures and foundation.
Arrange data sheet for piping supports, springs, and expansion joints.
Selects the supports of the lines and communicates them to the piping discipline leader.
Prepares required lists, Bill of Material and Material Take-Off.
As part of the Department the Stress Engineer:
Provides feedback to Stress Discipline Leader to increase efficiency of the group assigned to the project
Receives continuous training on the job according to the needs of the Department acquiring competences and shared experiences
Keeps himself updated about the mechanical design
Pursues the continuous improvement of his proficiency and technical competences
Possible additional tasks:
He/She can be asked to assist the pre-commissioning/commissioning supervisor and start-up supervisor for all those activities related to plant process automation
He/She can be asked to participate to manufacturer inspections
Requirements
Degree in mechanical engineering.
2/3 years of work experience in engineering design in Oil & Gas or Power sectors is preferred.
Knowledge of CAESAR II or equivalent software.
Knowledge of main international standards (i.e. ASME B31 sections).
Knowledge of AutoCad or other CAD Software.
Proactivity, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and in a team.
Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
Availability to short and long term national and international business trips.
